Last Gasp Monkeyshines

Well, in case any of you, my loyal readers, were wondering - no, I have not fallen off the face of the planet, I have merely been just amazingly busy with the new job and have been having "issues" with reliable Internet access at times when I am able to use it (I now live on London time).

That said, last weekend Moneyshines went off as scheduled - and what a great time it was! This weekend featured a special guest appearance by our two favorite benefactors: Grandpa Monty and Grandma Fredi - and of course they came bearing the last of the birthday season gifts, as well as hugs, smooches and tickles.

Highlights of our weekend included the usual trip to the sensory gym, a trip to Century 21 where Miranda picked out socks for Daddy, multiple trips to the park, and the New York City Marathon.

The weather for the weekend improved from a cold, windy and damp start to a sunny and mild day Sunday for the marathon. Our spirits, however, were bright and cheerful all weekend long.

It seems like the kids' birthdays have been going on for a month (maybe two) but this was the last of it and Zachy got a LiteBrite set from the grands, while Miranda got a pose-able Groovy Girl to add to here ever-expanding collection. Both gifts were very much appreciated and Miranda even helped her big brother open his present - in fact, it was difficult to stop her from helping.

I wont bore you all with all the little details, but it was a really nice weekend and a nice visit with family. Grandma and Grandpa even got to meet our pet mouse Squeaky and Miranda did a fabulous job of explaining everything to her grandparents - "this is his dinner and this is how you pet him, and you don't poke him in the eye."

As promised, I'm keeping this brief, but I will close with this: starting with next weekend, we will be enjoying a Monkeyshines triple-header, including the much anticipated Thanksgiving trip to North Carolina for the the big Miller/Danzinger family reunion - stay tuned for so much more. I will be posting more frequently as I learn how to manage my time with the new job and all. Until then - peace, love and special sauce.
